Joel Leffler is the direct bloodline of the well known Leffler brothers Edmund & Adam from the 1800’s.
Adam was dubbed England’s first baritone vocalist as a singer in Wesminster Abbey & Edmund, a professor of music & multi-instrumentalist frequented stages in both the UK & Australia.
It seems the Leffler name carries in its blood a plethora of musical prowess dating back to the early 1600’s where the family was brought to the King’s Court from Germany as singers for the King.
Fast forward 400 years & here sits a new musical prodigy of the Leffler name.
Joel began his songwriting journey early with his dad Wayne, an award winning songwriter, teaching him the ropes.
Joel, an up and coming sports figure as a teenager turned to music when he began to receive high acclaim for songs he had written in his bedroom.
From 2008, Joel picked up 2 UTAS Runner-Up Stephen Schwartz Songwriting awards, 4 x Top 10 Triple JJJ Unearthed charting songs & a range of appearances with Australian greats such as Diesel, Ian Moss & Rick Price.
As Joel’s music began to grow, so did Joel’s accolades, signing his first publishing contract in August of 2016 with Foghorn Records. Since then Joel has shared the stage with the likes of Casey Donovan, Shannon Noll, Dragon & INXS ex front man Ciaran Gribbin.
His first EP release under Foghorn Records ‘Run With The Wolves’ saw both National & International radio airplay reaching from Nevada City, USA to the Highlands of Scotland. Tracks from the EP also received high rotation in over 1,200 cafés including multiple supermarket & retail stores country wide.
Joel’s most recent success saw him sing the Australian anthem in front of a 10,000 strong Qudos Bank Arena before a Sydney Kings basketball game.
Joels brand new EP ‘Strip Me Bare’ is due for release this April; mixed, produced & mastered by Sony Music Australia’s in-house engineer Peter Holz. It features a guest vocalist on ‘In My Sights’ by Melissa-Jane.
With all of the above resting on Joels shoulders, he is within arm’s reach of fulfilling his forefathers legacy.
